The city saw a significant drop in fresh novel Coronavirus infections as well as the test positivity rate (TPR) on Thursday. While the daily cases fell below 200 again, the TPR was recorded at 0.54 per cent, one of the lowest in the second wave, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report.
The civic body confirmed 179 new cases, down from 258 recorded the day before. The number of newly confirmed deaths remains the same as Wednesday, at four. Two of the deceased patients had comorbidities, and one was below 40 years of age, one was aged between 40-59 years, and the rest were senior citizens.
