Mumbai reports 323 cases on Sunday; Maharashtra 5,508; state-wide fatalities also increase

The number of new Covid-19 cases in the city dropped marginally to 323 on Sunday from 331 the day before. Daily fatalities, however, rose by four to nine, according to the latest report of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. A similar trend was reported in the state’s figures, with infections going down to 5,508 and deaths rising to 151.
Among the nine Covid-19 deaths confirmed on Sunday, six patients had comorbidities, four were in the 40-59 years age group and five were senior citizens. The test positivity rate (TPR) in the city also rose marginally on Sunday, to 0.95 per cent.
