A 91-year-old's passionate symphony While working on it, director Rafeeq Ellias didn&rsquo;t realise that his documentary, The Ninety First Symphony &mdash; The Musical Journey Of Homi Dastoor, would have such an impact.
The 20-minute film, which salutes the 91-year-old Dastoor&rsquo;s passion for Western Classical music &mdash; his meticulous 75-year-long research on the maestros who shaped the genre &mdash; resulted in Musical Journeys: A Personal Introduction To Western Classical Composers that released two years ago, recently won a jury award at the 5th Kolkata Shorts International Film Festival.
&ldquo;I am happy that it is being seen at screenings. People should know such a man exists. He is a role model,&rdquo; shared Ellias. When we asked if he had spoken to Dastoor, he laughed, &ldquo;I am just back from a trip. For him, the film hasn&rsquo;t ended. He keeps sending me more material for the film.&rdquo;
