Old-school advertisement at work Goafest, the Indian advertising fraternity&rsquo;s annual meet, is going on in the sunny environs of Goa and the message on the first day hinged on digital being the big thing (which, of course, they have been saying for the last five years).

In the age of information, with an overload of messages bombarding us while we commute, this plain old handwritten ad, that too in Devnagri, sans pictures and frills, did what an ad must do &lsquo;catch one&rsquo;s eye&rsquo;.&nbsp;
It&rsquo;s nothing fancier than a dhobi advertising his services, with a simple poster on platform 3 of one of the city&rsquo;s busiest railway stations.
