Who&rsquo;s Wai Knot? There&rsquo;s good news for fans of one of India&rsquo;s favourite children&rsquo;s publications, Tinkle. It will now turn into a fornightly, its editor Rajani Thindiath told this diarist yesterday.

&ldquo;Our readers have been demanding more stories and wish to read the magazine more often. The team was happy to go fortnightly, since we are returning to our roots &mdash; it started as a fortnightly. She shared that this also gave them the flexibility to explore stories and characters better.&rdquo; Add to this, readers can look out for a new character series called Wai Knot, which appears in the first fortnightly issue.
The 10-year-old Bengaluru boy follows the wisdom, &ldquo;Do not ask why, ask Why Not?&rdquo; He was created in response to today&rsquo;s generation that doesn&rsquo;t take &lsquo;no&rsquo; for an answer from authority, she adds, telling us that Wai Knot is among those kids who have access to heaps of information via new media, whetting their desire to know more, and keep their parents and teachers on their toes. The series is written by Sean D&rsquo;Mello and illustrated by Vineet Nair. We can see Uncle Pai break into a broad smile from the heavens.
