The rare and the precious The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) will shortly inaugurate an exhibition titled, Ek Tha Laurak Ek Thi Chanda, showcasing the folios of the manuscript of Chandayana under the title, Art Unseen Series I.

This is a new initiative by the museum to highlight its collection, which visitors didn&rsquo;t have access to earlier. One can view an illustrated manuscript called the The Manuscript of Chandayana, which was illustrated in the 16th century, probably in the Delhi-Jaunpur area, in Sultanate style.
This style is a blend of Indian, Persian and Iranian. The Persian influence reflects in the colour tonalities, use of Persian arabesques, while the backgrounds covered with small strokes to depict vegetation and use of the Chinese ribbon-clouds, are some of the features borrowed from Turkish paintings.

Happy Birthday Johnny Walker! Today is the 89th birth anniversary of legendary comedian-actor Johnny Walker, confirms his actor-director son, Nasirr Khan. In fact, Khan&rsquo;s upcoming film is titled, &lsquo;Sar Jo Tera Chakraaye&rsquo; inspired by his father&rsquo;s popular song.

Art on rural India at Paris show Tasveer will be a part of Paris Photo, a premier international art fair in Paris, for the third consecutive time, this year. For this edition, they will exhibit a solo show of rare prints by artist Jyoti Bhatt, who is known for his modernist work in painting and print-making, and photographic documentation of rural Indian culture.

The collection will include his work spanning three decades, from 1966 to 1994, inspired by rural Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal and Bihar along with experimental studio work. The art fair is scheduled from November 12 to 15.
