Elderly man attempts self-immolation at Mantralaya over ignored complaints

An official stated that cashew polishing factories, which operate 24 hours a day, are located near Bajaj's home. The noise from the factories had caused him significant distress. He had complained to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and the local administration several times, but his complaints were met with no response

A dramatic incident unfolded outside the Mantralaya in Mumbai on Tuesday evening when a 70-year-old man attempted self-immolation in protest. 

According to news agency ANI, security personnel detained the man and subsequently handed him over to the Marine Drive police. After questioning, the police released him with a notice.
