For the second consecutive day, on Thursday, fewer than 40,000 beneficiaries got themselves inoculated against novel Coronavirus. According to the BMC’s data, 39,644 people were vaccinated throughout the day. So far, 7,68,261 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the city, including 98,811 who have taken both the shots.

When senior citizens and 45 years-plus with comorbidities were added among the beneficiaries for the COVID-19 vaccine, the BMC received a tremendous response. Across the city 40,000-44,000 people were being vaccinated daily, but the numbers have come down now.
