Mumbai: Fire breaks out in Dharavi, halts trains between Mahim and Bandra

Fire engines from Dadar, BKC, Bandra and Shivaji Park fire stations were rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are yet to be determined

A Level-II fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at the Navrang Compound near Mahim Fatak, close to the Sion–Mahim Link Road in Dharavi, triggering a multi-agency emergency response and disrupting suburban train services, officials said.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the first alert at 12:29 pm. The blaze was confined to a ground-plus-one hutment structure inside the compound, located near the railway phatak and Noor Restaurant on 60-Feet Road. Fire engines from Dadar, BKC, Bandra and Shivaji Park stations were rushed to the site, along with police personnel, 108 ambulance services and ward staff.
