A Level-II fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at the Navrang Compound near Mahim Fatak, close to the Sion–Mahim Link Road in Dharavi, triggering a multi-agency emergency response and disrupting suburban train services, officials said.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the first alert at 12:29 pm. The blaze was confined to a ground-plus-one hutment structure inside the compound, located near the railway phatak and Noor Restaurant on 60-Feet Road. Fire engines from Dadar, BKC, Bandra and Shivaji Park stations were rushed to the site, along with police personnel, 108 ambulance services and ward staff.
