In a tragic turn of events, five boys drowned in the Marve Creek in Malad West on Sunday. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), two boys were rescued from Marve Creek, while three others were still missing after they drowned on Sunday.

The incident was reported by BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade in the morning around 9.38 am and has since triggered a massive search and rescue operation involving various agencies.
The two boys, who were rescued by the people before the arrival of fire brigade officials, were identified as Krushna Jitendra Harijan (16) and Ankush Bharat Shivare, the BMC said.
The missing boys have been identified as Subham Rajkumar Jaiswal (12), Nikhil Sajid Kayamkur (13), and Ajay Jitendra Harijan (12).
The BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, Coast Guard, navy divers, 108 Ambulance and ward staff have been mobilised for the rescue operation, the civic body said.
The incident comes after two youngsters died by drowning in the Vasai’s Chinchoti waterfall - a popular trekking trail during rain - in on Friday.
Two persons drowned in a waterfall in Vasai town of Maharashtra's Palghar district on Friday, an official told news agency PTI.
The incident took place at Chinchoti waterfalls, where a group of six men from Nalla Sopara went for a picnic, the official said.
The victims Rohan Rathod (19) and Ravi Jha (18) ventured into the waterfall for a swim and drowned, the official told PTI.
Local firemen and personnel from Naigaon police station rushed to the scene and fished out the bodies, the official said.
In a similar incident, an 18-year-old boy drowned in Chinchoti waterfall on Thursday and his body was recovered this morning.
The victim Sumit Yadav was visiting the waterfall with his friends when he drowned, an official said.
Meanwhile, the district collector has issued an order warning picnickers from entering water bodies.
