Work on two of the three mega east-west bridges, along with elevated decks parallel to the station, has finally picked up pace after the monsoon. The Ghatkopar Station Improvement Project under Phase-II is moving ahead steadily, with major structural works taking shape as part of efforts to ease congestion and enhance passenger movement.
The upgrade includes construction of a new elevated deck, two 12-metre-wide foot overbridges (FOBs) at the north and south ends, and additional passenger amenities. The work, pushed by a series of mid-day reports in 2019, has finally paved way for a bigger and better Ghatkopar suburban station.
