Gone are the days when only those who didn’t score well in Class X exams, but still needed a job, would apply for Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses. This year, a total of 101 candidates, who have scored 100 per cent in Class X have applied for ITI admission. Increasing demand for skilled labour force around the world has led many to opt for these vocational courses.
The ITIs have been a popular choice for many as it allows professional technical training in fields such as electronics and computers. That is followed by internships and job opportunities in their respective fields. As the admissions process began for ITI this year, the trend seems to be changing with many high scorers applying for admission. At the end of first round of admissions, 68 per cent seats are already allotted.
