The rains may have reduced in the past two weeks, but the lakes which supply water to the city, have 81 per cent stock more than last year, but less than 2019. The lakes need to be filled to their capacity by the end of the next month.
The heavy spells for a week in July helped increase water levels significantly. All the seven lakes, which supply water to Mumbai, have a combined capacity of storage of 14.47 million litres of water.
