Dharavi fire: Mumbai local services resume on Western and Harbour lines

The suburban railway services on Mumbai’s Western Railway (WR) have returned to normal after a Level-2 fire near Mahim Fatak disrupted operations on Saturday afternoon. According to railway officials, the first Harbour line train on the DOWN route departed at 2:11 pm, moving at 10 kmph after a memo was issued, while on the UP Fast line, caution orders were relaxed at 2.29 pm. All services are now operating normally, said the railways said.

A blaze broke out earlier in the day at the Navrang Compound near Mahim Fatak, close to the Sion–Mahim Link Road in Dharavi. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the first alert at 12.29 pm. The fire was confined to a ground-plus-one hutment structure located near the railway phatak and Noor Restaurant on 60-Feet Road.
