Western Railway (WR) has announced a 30-day block on Mumbai`s Kandivali–Borivali section to carry out the work related to the construction of the 6th railway line. The block, which began on the night of December 20/21, 2025, will continue until January 18, 2026, affecting both suburban and long-distance train services.

According to Vineet Abhishek, chief public relations officer of WR, a major block will be implemented during the night of January 6/7, 2026, for the insertion of Point No 103 on the UP Fast Line at Kandivali. Accordingly, the UP Fast Line will remain blocked from midnight to 5.30 am, while the DOWN Fast Line will be blocked from 1 am to 4.30 am.
