Man posing as ticket checker
A youth boarded the 19015 Saurashtra Express from Virar today and began checking passengers’ tickets. On-duty coach conductor, Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector Shyam Kishore Prasad, became suspicious and asked him for an ID card, which he failed to produce. He was handed over to the RPF at Dahanu Road for further action.
The accused could not present any valid ID or badge and claimed that he was an authorised ticket checker posted at Bandra. However, he later confessed to impersonating a railway official.
In a similar incident in 2023, a fake ticket checker was caught while inspecting tickets in the first-class compartments of a Central Railway Mumbai local train.
