The Sakinaka police have arrested a man and his son for allegedly assaulting a sub-inspector on duty in the area on Tuesday night. Drish Sharma, 19, who was riding his illegally modified bike without a helmet and honking excessively, was stopped by Police Sub-Inspector Prakash Wakhare, 35, who was patrolling the MHADA Colony area in Andheri to check if Navratri mandals had stopped playing loud music.

While there, PSI Wakhare spotted Drish riding a motorcycle on Sinhgad College Road without a helmet and with a loud modified silencer. Wakhare stopped him and asked for his age and driving licence. Drish replied rudely, questioning Wakhare as to why he should furnish his licence or reveal his age. He also threatened Wakhare, saying his uncle was a senior police officer and that he would have him suspended.
