Mumbai: Manja leaves gaping cut in Worli Assistant Police Inspector's neck

Assistant Police Inspector Rakesh Gawli has received 10 stitches in his neck; doctors say the cut had reached close to a vital nerve

Assistant inspector of Worli police station Rakesh Gawli received grievous injuries when a manja got entangled around his neck, cutting it deep, while he was returning from the sessions court on his bike via the JJ flyover on Sunday afternoon. 

While the cop has received 10 stitches and is currently undergoing treatment at Wockhardt Hospital in South Mumbai, the MRA Marg police have registered a case against an unknown person and are investigating the matter.
