Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Corporator Ritu Tawde began her first speech as Mumbai Mayor by paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Tawde, who became the 78th mayor of Mumbai on Wednesday, also thanked 11 other leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, senior BJP leaders Mangal Prabhat Lodha and Ashish Shelar, Republic Party of India (Athawale) chief Ramdas Athavale, BJP state chief Ravindra Chavan, party city president Ameet Satam, BJP Group Leader in BMC Ganesh Khankar, and Shiv Sena Group Leader Amey Ghole.
