Mumbai: MBVV cops to spring surprise blocks to tackle crime rate

Nakabandis in several areas to begin today in the Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai- Virar area to curb crime and assist citizens in peril, say police

Starting today, you will have to pass through surprise nakabandi in the Mira-Bhayandar-Vasai-Virar (MBVV) region as around 1,100 newly-inducted constables will be deployed on the roads to conduct checks. Last year, the constables were recruited in the MBVV police, and on February 17-18, they completed their training and were inducted into the force.

To maintain law and order and control crime in the region, MBVV Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey has decided to deploy all the new constables on roads for nakabandi. The cops have decided on 7 to 8 spots within each police station’s jurisdiction to conduct surprise checks.
