This nifty robot was the showstopper at the annual fire-fighting competition held at the Mumbai Fire Brigade headquarters in Byculla yesterday.

The robot is not only capable of dousing fires, but can also manoeuvre its way on stairs. It can take over operations in perilous cases like the Kalbadevi inferno, reducing the risk to firemen.

The event also featured a real-time operation in which the fire brigade doused a blazing LPG cylinder.&nbsp;
