Commuters on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 will need to adjust their morning travel plans for a week, as services will start later than usual between 12 and 18 October 2025, to enable crucial system integration and safety trials for connecting Metro Line 7 with the upcoming Metro Line 9 (Phase 1).
The trials are essential for completing inspections, testing systems, and ensuring the entire Red Line extension is safe for public use. The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has already completed its inspection on September 23, 2025, and this next phase includes Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) testing and trial runs between Gundavali and Kashi Gaon, an official statement said on Saturday.
