If all goes as per plan, commuters will be able to travel on the Metro line-7 within the next two months. The MMRDA has plans to open phase one of line 7, which runs between Dahisar East to Aarey Milk Colony, before the monsoons. The Commissioner of Railway Safety is in Mumbai to carry out the safety inspection of phase one.
Speaking with mid-day, Metropolitan Commissioner SVR Srinivas said, “The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety [CMRS] team is in Mumbai over the weekend to inspect phase one of the Metro Line 7 between the Dahisar to Aarey Milk Colony. The MMRDA is leaving no stone unturned to complete and open the line for the public in 30-45 days after the compliances and clearances and sanctions are in place.” Motorists who have faced the agony of commuting on the arterial WEH between Dahisar East and Aarey Milk Colony will get relief.
