Police are trying to identify and hunt three people who tried to snatch a three-year-old boy from his mother while they were walking home on an empty road, at Lokhandwala Township in Kandivli East. The incident happened around 12 pm on Wednesday, which left the mother, Dipti Chandrakant Joshi, 39, with injuries as the trio thrashed her when she resisted their attempt to snatch the boy.

The Samta Nagar police have filed an FIR and started the investigation. While the complainant has claimed the three people were eunuchs, police suspect that might not be the case. “I had taken my son to a pre-nursery school near our house for admission. While walking back home, three eunuchs stopped me on the road when it was empty and asked me to give them my son. When I refused, two of them grabbed my hand and the third eunuch tried to snatch my son from my hand. They slapped me eight-nine times and told me that they will take my child anyhow,” Joshi, a resident of Lokhandwala Township, told mid-day.
