Days after this newspaper highlighted the plight of motorists suffering due to too many potholes on the Mumbai-Nashik highway, authorities have begun levelling many stretches of the road with paver blocks.
mid-day on July 21 had reported that several parts of the busy carriageway were riddled with potholes, particularly after Ghoti toll plaza and near Igatpuri. Since areas between Kalyan and Igatpuri receive heavy rainfall and often turn foggy during the monsoon reducing visibility, bad roads become dangerous for motorists and two-wheeler riders. Spurred by the report, paver blocks are being fixed at many places on the road, said users.
