Due to a policy shift on doors, a major issue of passengers running to catch trains and slipping might get fixed, as the railways are trying to shift to automatic door-closing trains. Mumbai’s first smart Rajdhani Express with such door-closing and other advanced features began its journey to New Delhi on Monday evening.
The train, manufactured by the Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli, will not move till all the doors are shut. This way it will ensure only authorised passengers get in, and deter hawkers and other outsiders, as and when the doors close.
