A 16-year-old girl fell from a window on the 27th floor of a Thane building on Tuesday evening. She succumbed to her injuries in hospital. The Chitalsar Manpada police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are investigating the matter.
Ganpat Pingle, senior police inspector, said, "The incident took place at 7.30 pm at the Mayflower building at Hiranandani Meadows in Thane West. We suspect that she was removing a towel from the window, but as there was no grille, she fell down."
The police will take statements from her parents and other residents in the building to get more details.
