Mumbai police intensify drive to crack down on drug trade

Mumbai police have launched a significant crackdown on the city’s drug trade, aiming to rid Mumbai of narcotics. As of July this year, action has been taken against 975 alleged suspects. It was 400 cases for the same period last year.

CM Eknath Shinde directed the city police to initiate the “Mission Thirty Days” campaign to eradicate drugs from the city. Consequently, the police apprehended 350 individuals and seized drugs worth Rs 7.44 crore within ten days of the campaign’s launch.
