All public vaccination centres in the city will administer vaccine doses to only women on Friday, civic officials have said. The special session is an attempt to inoculate more women, they said.

Officials said women can directly walk into any of the centres run by the state government, BMC or the Covid care facilities across Mumbai’s 227 corporator wards. “The first or second dose will also be given in this session and thus it will not be operational for the general public on Friday. Due to the fact that only women will be vaccinated, the prevailing online pre-registration for tomorrow has been closed,” said BMC said in a press statement.
