After mid-day highlighted how various Central and Western Railway platforms weren’t adequately sheltered, railway authorities swung into action, and many roof gaps have been fixed at most of the stations mentioned by this newspaper in a report earlier this month.

The placing of a roof over missing sections at Dombivli railway station, where work has been on for an additional foot overbridge, has also been completed and the extension of the roof on platform 5 at Thane station has been partially completed.
