As a part of its ongoing monsoon preparedness, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Solid Waste Management (SWM) Department has announced a special cleanliness drive in the city and the suburbs from Friday. The initiative, which will go on till June 15, will focus on the collection of waste, debris, pavement blocks, construction rubble, and other materials discarded at project sites.
The civic body said that special attention will be given to areas around water bodies and drains to ensure that they are not choked during the monsoon season.
Sweeping will be conducted every day before 10 am, with second round of sweeping to be scheduled as needed.
