Train services between Kalyan and Kasara sections in Maharashtra's Thane district, which is adjacent to Mumbai, came to a halt on Wednesday afternoon. The stoppage was caused by a track changing point failure at Kalyan station due to heavy rains in the area, according to a senior railway official.

In response to the situation, the Central Railway diverted certain mail and express trains via the Diva-Panvel-Karjat route and the Daund-Manmad route. Additionally, a few trains between Mumbai and Pune were either short-terminated or cancelled.
