The city on Wednesday recorded 124 new Covid-19 infections and zero pandemic-related deaths, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a release. This is the eighth time this month that Mumbai reported more than 120 new cases. On Tuesday, it had logged 132 new Covid-19 cases and zero fatalities. The Covid-19 case tally of the financial capital of the country rose to 10,61,038, while the death toll remained unchanged at 19,563.
Of the new Covid-19 cases, only two patients were symptomatic and hospitalised. None of them was put on oxygen support, the BMC release said. Only 23 out of 25,249 hospital beds earmarked for Covid-19 patients are occupied.
