Mumbai police have acquired evidence to confirm that the woman died as a result of a car accident on Sion Hospital grounds.

A senior citizen was killed on the scene after being hit by a speeding car inside a civic hospital in central Mumbai, a police officer said on Saturday. The accident occurred on Friday night at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, popularly known as Sion Hospital.

According to a Sion police official, the female victim's identity has yet to be determined, reported PTI.
"Primary information suggests the woman was hit by a car but we are waiting for the hospital's version before registering a case," the official told PTI.
Per the news agency report, the police have acquired evidence to confirm that the woman died as a result of a car accident on hospital grounds.
"Further investigations are underway," the official stated.
In another incident, a truck and a pickup van went through a retention wall on a bypass and plummeted down the road below in Maharashtra's Thane district on Saturday, killing one person and injuring another, according to a civic official.
The accident happened around 1 pm on the Mumbra bypass. According to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic disaster management cell, a pickup van smashed into a cyclist on the road below, killing him instantaneously, the PTI report added.
According to the report, the driver of the pickup van was injured and is currently being treated at a hospital. Police are looking for the truck driver, who fled the area following the crash.
In a similar incident from Nagpur, seven people, including a 3-month-old baby, were injured, three of them critically, when a speeding car allegedly driven by an intoxicated individual collided with pedestrians and motorcyclists in Nagpur, an official said on Saturday.
The officers seized beer bottles and marijuana from the vehicle, the official told PTI. The incident occurred at 8 pm near Natraj Talkies in the bustling Mahal neighbourhood, the police official added.
