A 12-year-old deaf- mute boy was reunited with his mother 15 days after going missing, all thanks to a T-shirt he was wearing that had a politician’s name printed on it. “My son left the house on September 28 to roam around in the nearby area as he usually does. But this time when he did not return till late, we started searching for him everywhere. Finally, when we could not find him, we approached Bhandup police station on October 2,” the mother said.

According to the police, the boy had worn a T-shirt that had BJP leader Kaushik Patil’s name printed on it, which helped the police trace the boy. Patil said, “Someone called me from Bhiwandi saying they had found a boy who is unable to communicate and seemed lost. He said the boy was wearing a T-shirt that has my name on it. I inquired in the area and found his mother’s number and called her. The caller then made a video call and the mother identified the boy. We went to Bhiwandi late night on October 10 and reunited the boy with his mother," said Patil.
