The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad will be experiencing moderate to heavy spells of rain during the next three to four hours. Meanwhile, it issued a red alert for the Sindhudurg district and an orange alert for Ratnagiri district on June 9. The regional IMD office in Mumbai said that the aforementioned areas will be seeing thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds.
The forecast predicts that "Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and moderate to heavy spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Raigad during next 3-4 hours. Take precautions while moving out."
