In a shocking incident, three minors were held by Ghatkopar police for allegedly raping a mentally challenged minor girl inside a toilet. They also made a video of the incident, and shared it on social media. It all came to light after the brother of the victim found the video and informed his family, who rushed to the police station and registered the case. Acting swiftly, cops immediately detained the trio in connection with the incident and produced them in front of the Juvenile Justice Board, which has sent them to Children Home.

According to the police, the incident occurred on January 13, when the 17-year-old survivor had gone to the toilet. The three boys, who were sitting next to the toilet, nabbed her and dragged her inside. They covered her mouth by hand and one of the boys sexually assaulted her while the others filmed it. The girl tried to free herself but she was beaten by the boys. After they fled, she went home but didn’t say anything. Her elder brother saw the video a week later.

An FIR has been registered against the three on January 20. The minors have been booked under IPC section 376J (being in a position of control over a woman, commits rape on such woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 500 (defamation), 34 (common intention) and relevant sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) act and IT Act 2000.
