Following mid-day’s report highlighting how a tilting lamppost on the eastbound stretch of Juhu Tara Road, opposite the All India Balkan-Ji-Bari sports complex, posed a serious threat to pedestrians and motorists, the authorities have now straightened the pole. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials also informed this newspaper that they will expedite ongoing stormwater drainage work in the area, and the footpath above it will be completed at the earliest.
A BMC official stated, “We had directed the agency concerned to straighten the tilted pole, which was completed on Tuesday. Currently, work on the stormwater drainage is progressing rapidly, and the footpath over the drainage system will be completed within a week, ensuring pedestrians no longer need to walk on the road.”
