The Central Railway Mumbai on Thursday released its suburban train timetable and for the first time, as reported by Mid-Day, has made a shift to a census-based train slots after studying the commuter pattern and changes in offices areas based on the latest 2011 census. The railways have also pre-poned the timing of the last local train by a few minutes so that there is more time for maintenance. Overall the timetable now has more north-bound local services instead of a south centric focus.
Seven existing and short services running late in the night and early in the morning have been cancelled. Representation Pic
