Two passengers including a woman were arrested by Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai customs at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday evening. Both the accused have been booked in separate cases for allegedly carrying gold dust in wax inside their undergarments, the AIU said.
“On October 10, the Mumbai Airport Customs seized 3.07 kgs gold dust valued at Rs 1.63 crores in two cases from passengers arrived from Dubai by a SpiceJet Flight (SG-14). The gold dust in wax form was found concealed in the undergarments of the passengers, both were arrested,” AIU officials said in a statement.
