Air quality in the city deteriorated sharply on Sunday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 126, placing Mumbai in the ‘unhealthy’ category

The city experienced relatively cool weather on Sunday, even as air quality worsened across several areas.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Santacruz recorded a minimum temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 0.2 degrees above normal, while the maximum temperature stood at 32.7 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees below normal. In south Mumbai, Colaba registered a minimum temperature of 20.4 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees above normal, and a maximum of 32.1 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees below normal.
