The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai today, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated locations across the city and suburbs.

As of 8:00 am, the forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky with moderate spells of rain expected throughout the day. Gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph are also likely in some areas.

Between 8:00 AM on July 20 and 8:00 am on July 21, Mumbai recorded 23.45 mm of rainfall in the city, 36.42 mm in the eastern suburbs, and 50.02 mm in the western suburbs.
