The station buildings at these locations, including Grant Road, Charni Road and Mahalaxmi, are old

At Charni Road station, the south-end elevated booking office that had been dismantled will be built with a bridge linking it to all the platforms
To improve passenger amenities, the Western Railway will rebuild Grant Road, Charni Road, Mahalaxmi and Dadar stations that see significant footfalls. Work is expected to begin before March 2022, said officials. The station buildings at these locations are old.
At Dadar station, officials said, a number of new inter-linked foot overbridges (FoB), many of them interconnected, have come up and have significantly upgraded the station connectivity. The old BMC FoB at the Churchgate-end is also being rebuilt, creating a bigger circulating area. The old, elevated ticket booking offices at the southern end has already been demolished. “The new station buildings at Dadar will incorporate these offices and other amenities for which the General Arrangement Drawings are under preparation,” said a WR official.
