A 75-year-old woman died in a tragic road accident outside the Sahyadri State Guest House at Malabar Hill on Tuesday morning after an electric BEST bus collided with a parked car.
The victim, identified as Neeta Nitin Shah, a resident of Prakash 1 Building, Ridge Road (B. G. Khair Marg), was out for her morning walk when the incident occurred around 9:10 am. According to officials, she was caught between the bus and the parked car, sustaining severe head injuries. She died on the spot.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the electric bus, operating on Route 105 from Vijay Vallabh Chowk to Kamala Nehru Park, was approaching the spot when the driver reportedly heard a sudden noise. Upon inspection, he discovered that a pedestrian had come in contact with the left rear tyre of the bus, and the collision had also damaged a car parked on the roadside.
