The team of 50 women cops will be identified as ‘RPF Girl Power With Arms’
Starting today, a team of 50 Railway Protection Force (RPF) women constables will be deployed in general as well as ladies compartments of trains running on the Central Railway section. They will be carrying carbine and pistols for security reasons and have also been trained to work on ground. The team, which will also be seen on long-distance trains, will be identified as ‘RPF Girl Power With Arms’.
Central Railway RPF Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Jitendra Shrivastava said, “Fifty women have been given special training to work in the frontline. We will be using girl power to ensure security of passengers. Earlier, the women constables would handle complaints and patrol ladies coaches, but now they will be seen working on ground with arms. However, they will continue to patrol all coaches. You will also find this team on long-distance trains, where they will mainly work to prevent mobile thefts.”
