Mumbai continued to see a dip in test positivity rate (TPR) and daily cases and deaths. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 1,815 cases were reported with a TPR of 5.27 per cent and 10 deaths. But the state saw a significant rise in cases and deaths at 33,914 and 86 respectively.
Nine of the Covid-19 fatalities in Mumbai had comorbidities and all the 10 were above the age of 60. Around 84 per cent of the patients found positive on Tuesday were asymptomatic and 293 of them were hospitalised, 68 of whom are on oxygen beds. The recovery rate remained constant at 96 per cent as 753 patients were discharged. The doubling rate improved and was at 161 days. The state’s case fatality rate continued to dip and was at 1.87 per cent. A total of 30,500 people were discharged during the day and the state’s active cases were at 3,02,923 on Tuesday.
