The upward trend of daily COVID-19 infections continued, with the city registering a sharp spike on Sunday with 645 positive cases. A total of 16,340 people were tested for novel Coronavirus.
The number of tests being conducted in the city is almost the same for the past five days, but the number of positive cases has been constantly surging. The test positivity rate (TPR)rose to 4 per cent on Sunday, equal to that of December, and way higher than last week’s figure. Till February 9, the city was seeing an average of 400 cases daily, but the numbers went past 500 from the very next day.
