Mumbai's fresh COVID-19 cases dipped below 300 along with a drop in the test positivity rate (TPR) on Monday. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, 267 new cases were reported along with four deaths. All of the four deceased had comorbidities. While one of them was in the age group of 40-60 years, the other three were above 60 years of age.

The doubling rate improved to 1,595 days on Monday. The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 420 people were discharged after full recovery. New cases in the state saw a significant dip as it fell below 1,000 along with a drop in COVID-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 809 cases were reported along with 10 deaths across the state.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a marginal drop in new cases. As per the state report, 428 cases were reported in the MMR, including the ones from Mumbai.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR at 48, followed by Navi Mumbai with 34 cases. While Panvel saw 21 cases, Raigad reported 11 cases and Vasai-Virar witnessed 10 cases. The MMR registered zero deaths.
