‘My brother never fought’: Kin deny police theory after Sion train fall

Inquiry into Friday’s Sion station incident reveals trio did not know each other; while 21-year-old Sachin Sharma and 29-year-old Afzal Chaudhary are stable and have been shifted for care in the male ward, 37-year-old Kaisar Mendi is critical.

The three commuters who fell off a running train near Sion railway station on Friday morning, continue to receive treatment at Sion Hospital on Saturday.

While 21-year-old Sachin Sharma and 29-year-old Afzal Chaudhary are stable and have been shifted for care in the male ward, 37-year-old Kaisar Mendi is critical. “Kaisar has been intubated and is in critical condition. He had a severe abdominal injury and fracture in the right elbow. A Hemopneumothorax has been observed as well. He has been intubated and in critical condition as he is unable to breathe on his own,” informed chief medical officer in duty Dr Shubham Singh.
