While Mayor Kishori Pednekar made allegations that a few private hospitals refused admission which delayed treatment of people injured in the fire at Sachinam Heights in Tardeo, her party leader Aaditya Thackeray refuted the claim in a tweet. Residents of the buildings have also alleged that three hospitals asked for heavy deposits before admission.

Nanda Chavan, a building resident, who has four of her family members being treated across various hospitals, says he was appalled by the behaviour of hospitals. “My nephew, Dhaval Salkar is hospitalised at Masina. At the time of admission, the hospital authorities asked us to deposit Rs 1,00,000.
